The poor performance of government schools of Gilgit Baltistan at primary and middle schools’ level is both sad and alarming, but this may well be the true representation of state of education in GB. The notion that GB is educated gets thrown around at every other forum whether its in discussion within Pakistan or internationally. This delusion goes without getting questioned since it supports GB’s soft image. The reality however seems grimmer, especially to the most underprivileged faction of society, people who do not have access to the luxury of private education because of lack of accessibility or affordability.  In a recent conversation with a professional in Islamabad the topic of quality education came up. EDUCATION TESTING COUNCIL – ETC HIGHER EDUCATION COMMISISON, PAKISTAN ELECTION COMMISSION GILGIT-BALTISTAN Important Announcement   1. The Screening Tests being conducted for Election Commission – GB by Education Testing Council (ETC), HEC are on schedule. The stay granted earlier against conducting of these tests on 29.02.2024 has since been vacated by the Honourable Court on 01.03.2024. 2. All the candidates are therefore directed to appear on time for their respective tests as planned and communicated earlier for Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd March, 2024.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 (𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 )   The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), under the Canadian-funded BEST4WEER Project, announces the Youth Internship Programme for the Skardu, Shigar, Ghanche and Kharmang districts of Baltistan Division.  𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚: • Applicants must be fresh graduates with 16 years of education. • They should be domiciled in the Baltistan Division. • Age should be below 35 years by the application deadline. • Candidates must not have previously benefited from any AKRSP-initiated Internship Programme. • Only on-time submissions and complete applications will be considered.
